Former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal has reportedly applied to become a reserve cop in Doral.

Miami Police confirmed the 7-feet-1 giant had enlisted with the force, but he still needs to pass a fitness test and a background check.

O'Neal, who played for LA Lakers and Miami Heat, among others, retired from basketball in 2011.

He visited Miami's city hall for talks about his possible new role last week.

City spokesman Christina Baguer said his fame, however, wouldn't see him given any special treatment, according to Bleacher Report.

"If he passes, he will then have to do everything else to be certified by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, just like any of our other officers, reserve or not reserve," Baguer said.

It's not his first time in a cop uniform.

The 42-year-old, from Newark, N.J, was sworn in as a reserve officer in Miami Beach in 2005, but is no longer registered with the department.
