Suspect in custody after mass stabbings at Texas College, A suspect is in custody after stabbing at least 14 people at the Lone Star College Cy-Fair campus in Texas. The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the stabbings happened at 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday. Investigators say that the stabbings appear to be random. Early reports indicate the suspect may have used a knife or pencil and no other weapons were found according to an April 8 article in the Houston Chronicle.

One victim said she saw the attacker running toward other students. She said she tried to get out of the way. The attacker swiped at her. She did not realize she had been hurt until she realized a small red line was running down her windpipe.

Another witness saw a victim with her mouth slashed open and then saw a student wrestle the suspect to the ground. The suspect is believed to be 21 years old and a student. That suspect is believed to be the sole attacker, but police have not determined a motive in the attacks.

Many of the injuries were stab wounds to the face and neck area. Medics transported twelve victims to area hospitals after the stabbings. Three more victims had treatment at the scene. Four of the hospitalized victims are in critical condition and two more are in an unknown condition. The most seriously injured were taken by helicopter to The Texas Medical Center.

Another Lone Star college campus was the scene of a shooting on Jan. 22. A gunman wounded three people at the Lone Star College North Harris campus. Initially, one of the victims was mistakenly charged. Eventually Trey Foster, was arrested and charged in the incident.
