Source: Clinton to address email controversy Tuesday in New York

Source: Clinton to address email controversy Tuesday in New York, Hillary Clinton, a likely 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, will address the controversy over her personal email use on Tuesday after a speech at the United Nations headquarters in New York, Fox News has confirmed.

News reports last week revealed that Clinton as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013 used a personal Internet server and at least one private email account to conduct official business.

Clinton is expected to speak at a media event after her scheduled 1:30 p.m. ET speech, a Democratic source told Fox News.

Clinton is expected to respond to the controversy amid calls from top Democrats to explain why she didn’t send and receive emails on her official government account.

“Step up and come out and state exactly what the situation is, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., told NBC on Sunday. "She is the leading candidate, whether it be Republican or Democrat, for the next president. ... From this point on, the silence is going to hurt her."

So far, the only public response Clinton has had was to send out a late-night tweet last week saying she's asked the State Department to make public her emails. In the absence of any other Clinton response, the White House has been left to defend her email practices, reportedly creating tension between the Obama administration and her camp.
