SPOILER ALERT: Michelle Connor is asked out by Coronation Street's new man Hamish after her rejection from Steve McDonald, Fresh from the rejection of Rovers Return boss Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) could be bouncing back with a new love interest.
There's a new man in town when Coronation Street returns for the new year and it seems he has his eyes set on Michelle from day one, asking her out shortly after their first meeting at the pub in scenes airing on Monday January 5.
New character Hamish is initially turned down for a date after he asks Michelle to organise his daughter's 21st birthday party, but with a little persuasion from her friends might soon see that it's a good idea after all.
It's fellow pub worker Eva (Catherine Tyldesley) who's set to step in with affairs of the heart, trying to prove to Michelle that she's mad not to accept the invitation from Hamish.
Steve has been preoccupied by his daughter Amy of late, trying to make it the perfect Christmas for her.
He invited Michelle upstairs at the pub to create a fake blizzard by throwing snow out of the window and onto the cobbles on Christmas Day but when Michelle mistook it for a romantic gesture, she tried to kiss him.
Michelle was rejected by Steve, although it appears that it's his hidden depression that's actually driving a wedge between the pair.
Michelle is lead to believe that Steve doesn't love her any more and his no idea that his is a deeper rooted problem.
Steve is struggling to hide his personal battle, though his mood appears to be the opposite of down beat when it comes to Christmas Day considering the extra festivities laid on for his daughter.
The brunette beauty later tells Tony that she has to move on but when she accepts a date from Hamish it appears that she's only trying to make Steve jealous.
