Luke Cage Good Wife, The actor who plays The Good Wife 's high-profile drug kingpin Lemond Bishop is making a change and entering the world of superheroes.
Marvel and Netflix have announced that Mike Colter is set to star as Luke Cage in Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones, a 13-episode series premiering on Netflix in 2015 after Marvel's Daredevil is released.
Colter has been tapped for the role of a mysterious man who becomes important to private investigator Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter (Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23). First introduced in the early 1970s, Cage has superhuman strength and impenetrable skin thanks to a cell regeneration experiment that went wrong.
"Mike embodies the strength, edge and depth of Luke Cage," said executive producer Melissa Rosenberg in a statement. "We're excited to have him bring this iconic Marvel character to life."
"Viewers will get to meet Luke Cage in Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones, and experience why he is such an important super hero in the Marvel mythos," said Jeph Loeb, executive producer and Marvel's head of television.
Colter is starring in the XBox original series Halo: Nightfall as Jameson Locke and is set to appear in the Sharon Stone action drama series for TNT titled Agent X also due in late 2015.
