Bobby & Pam, 'Dallas'
Bobby Ewing and Pamela Barnes’ relationship (watch clips) on the prime time soap opera “Dallas” was akin to a modern day “Romeo and Juliet.” While Patrick Duffy maintained steady acting gigs, Victoria Principal eventually stepped away from the camera to focus on business pursuits.
MR. BIG & CARRIE, 'SEX AND THE CITY'
The on-again, off-again relationship between Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big (real life inspiration) kept viewers waiting with bated breath while the pair played out their romantic tug of war (watch it). Since the series’ end, Sarah Jessica Parker has capitalized on one of Carrie’s claims to fame and Chris Noth returned to the TV genre for which he is best known.
CLIFF AND CLAIR, 'THE COSBY SHOW'
The patriarch and matriarch of the lovable Huxtable family tackled serious issues with laughter and love on one of TV’s biggest '80s hits, “The Cosby Show” (watch clips). After reuniting four years later as man and wife in a CBS sitcom, Bill Cosby returned to the place that honed his comic timing and Phylicia Rashad transitioned her artistry to behind the camera.
DAN AND ROSEANNE, 'ROSEANNE
'
Before Roseanne Barr’s brief stint as a talk show host and John Goodman’s memorable performance in “Flight,” Roseanne was leaving audiences in stitches as the loud and bossy wife to the typically easygoing Dan Conner on her self-titled series about a working-class Midwestern family (watch clips).
DAVID AND DONNA, 'BEVERLY HILLS, 90210'
The relationship between geeky sophomore David Silver and his socially awkward high school sweetheart Donna Martin from the first installment of “Beverly Hills, 90210” (watch clips) had a few hiccups, including his cheating and her determination to remain a virgin. Brian Austin Green has since become a family man (his famous wife) and Tori Spelling recently reunited onscreen with a fellow blonde 90210er.
DOUG AND CAROL, 'ER'
Between her failed suicide attempt and maneuvering through job-related stress, Nurse Hathaway and Dr. Ross’ relationship persevered and was strengthened by the birth of twin daughters and a move to Seattle for a fresh start (watch clips). Since leaving “ER,” George Clooney and Julianna Margulies’ on- and off-screen love lives have remained a hot topic.
DWAYNE AND WHITLEY, 'A DIFFERENT WORLD'
The bug-a-boo freshman geek with the infamous flip-up glasses put the moves on anything with a pulse, but it was a prissy Southern belle who stole his heart on “A Different World” (watch clips) after he cleaned up his act and got rid of his trademark specs. Kadeem Hardison, Jasmine Guy and the gang from Hillman College recently hooked up for a mini reunion (see photos).
ERICA AND DIMITRI, 'ALL MY CHILDREN'
“All My Children’s” Erica Kane had many husbands and boy toys, but none as memorable as the rambunctious romance she shared with Dimitri Marick (watch clips). Susan Lucci stayed with the show until its cancellation in 2013 and Michael Nader (see recent photos) placed his acting on hold until a familiar role came calling.
GRACE AND LEO, 'WILL AND GRACE'
When the feisty redhead met Leo, it seemed as if her bad luck with men was finally over. But when the tall dark and handsome doctor had an affair, the pair’s fairy-tale relationship began to play out like a movie of the week (watch clips). Since the finale of “Will & Grace,” Debra Messing and Harry Connick, Jr. (hear him sing) have managed to keep busy doing what they do best.
HOLDEN AND LILY, 'AS THE WORLD TURNS'
The pairing of the farm boy from the other side of the tracks with the passionate daughter of a wealthy mega-mogul had viewers of “As the World Turns” on pins and needles for more than 20 years (watch clips). The pair’s onscreen chemistry did not carry over to real life. Jon Hensley met his fellow actor wife on the set and Martha Byrne wed a former undercover New York City police officer.
JESSE AND BECKY, 'FULL HOUSE'
Television’s coolest uncle changed his bad boy ways when he met the practical and compassionate Becky Donaldson. The “Full House” became jam-packed when the two married and had twins. John Stamos and Lori Loughlin have remained close friends over the years.
JIM AND PAM, 'THE OFFICE'
The mild-mannered salesman and the shy receptionist finally hooked up in season three of “The Office.” For the remainder of the series, the pair tackled typical marital ups and downs, but managed to stay happily in love. Earlier this year, both John Krasinski (who is his famous wife?) and Jenna Fischer extended their families with newborn daughters.
JOANIE AND CHACHI, 'HAPPY DAYS'
Fonzi’s younger cousin Chachi pined after Joanie for years (watch clips). When she finally gave him a chance, their romance became central to many “Happy Days” episodes, most notably the series finale, which chronicled their wedding. Erin Moran and Scott Baio went on to star in their own spin-off until its cancellation after one season.
JOSH AND REVA, 'GUIDING LIGHT'
When Reva Shayne rolled into Springfield, trouble soon followed, particularly for men with the last name Lewis. After she plowed her way through marriages to both Josh’s older brother and father, Reva finally managed to win the heart of her one true love (watch clips). After the cancellation of “Guiding Light,” Robert Newman walked away from daytime dramas, while Kim Zimmer joined the cast of an ABC soap.
KEVIN AND WINNIE, 'THE WONDER YEARS'
For six seasons, we were transported to the late '60s and early '70s to watch the love of two teenagers (watch clips) blossom on “The Wonder Years.” Kevin and Winnie’s first kiss in the pilot episode was also the first for actors Fred Savage and Danica McKellar (their thoughts on the kiss).
LOIS AND CLARK, 'LOIS & CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN'
It was love at first sight (watch clips) for Superman’s civilian persona Clark when he laid eyes on his reporter partner Lois. But, it was his super hero alter ego that infatuated her. Since starring in “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” Teri Hatcher and Dean Cain have continued to be recognizable fixtures on TV screens.
LUKE AND LAURA, 'GENERAL HOSPITAL'
The wedding between daytime dramas’ original super couple (watch clips) was the highest rated hour in American soap opera history (how many viewers?). Although Anthony Geary and Genie Francis no longer share the screen on “General Hospital,” the union between their fictional characters has maintained a presence on the show.
NILES AND DAPHNE, 'FRASIER'
The English immigrant Daphne was oblivious to the pretentious, yet lovable Niles’ longing for her during the majority of the series. It wasn’t until season seven of “Frasier” that his true feelings were revealed (watch clips). Since the show’s end, David Hyde Pierce married his long-time love (who?) and Jane Leeves struck gold with a role on an ensemble comedy alongside a TV legend.
OVERTON AND SINCLAIR, 'LIVING SINGLE'
The naïve aspiring actress and the not-too-bright building handyman were a goofy match made in heaven on “Living Single” (watch clips)” After the show’s end, Kim Coles continued with TV acting roles, while John Henton recovered from a severe car accident that nearly claimed his life.
PACEY AND JOEY, 'DAWSON'S CREEK'
The evolution of this teen relationship began with complete disdain for each other and morphed into friendship, puppy love and finally an adult courtship in New York (watch clips). Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson dated the first two seasons of the show, but following the end of “Dawson’s Creek,” she married and divorced Tom Cruise and he held on to an eight-year relationship with a German actress.
PAUL AND JAMIE, 'MAD ABOUT YOU'
The newly married couple (watch clips) with the coveted New York apartment rarely argued over anything meaningful. After “Mad About You” came to an end, Paul Reiser continued to tackle TV roles, while Helen Hunt turned her acting talents to the movie screen.
RAY AND DEBRA, 'EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND'
Much of the stay-at-home mom’s and sportswriter’s marital issues on “Everybody Loves Raymond” stemmed from their meddling neighbors – Ray’s parents (watch clips). After the show’s end, Ray Romano and Patricia Heaton both starred in short-lived TV series before landing roles on hit shows.
ROSS AND RACHEL, 'FRIENDS'
Will they or won’t they? Ross harbored a crush on Rachel since high school, and his attempt to rekindle that affection throughout the series (watch clips) accounted for many of the show’s cliff-hangers and memorable scenes. Although rumors of a “Friends” reunion have been floating around for years, both David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston have kept themselves busy with roles on the big screen.
SAM AND DIANE, 'CHEERS'
We rooted for this socially opposite pair and took pleasure in their flirtatious and at times condemning banter (their most memorable scene). Since the final toast was raised at “Cheers,” Shelley Long faced a personal setback, while Ted Danson continued to find success on both the big and small screens.
ZACK AND KELLY, 'SAVED BY THE BELL'
Falling in and out of love seemed to be the norm for the high school sweethearts (watch clips) portrayed by Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Tiffani Thiessen. Kelly returned to claim her man halfway through the one and only season of “Saved by the Bell: The College Years,” ending the thrill of the chase when the two wed on the series finale.
