The Originals': Claire Holt Previews Rebekah's Return, Rebekah Mikaelson is back tonight on "The Originals"
Actress Claire Holt will make her first appearance on the show since her brief cameo in the Season 2 premiere, as her character continues to protect baby Hope. Things, however, are a little different in the life of the only female Original now that she's playing mom to Hayley and Klaus' daughter.
"She's traded her little hot red convertible in for a soccer mum car," Claire said when AccessHollywood.com spoke to her on Monday. "She loves being a mother and she loves raising Hope and she loves everything about this child and she's fiercely protective and loyal and I think it's really changed her and it's centered her and it's taught her what's important in life and it's been a great thing for her."
Taking care of the tot has been a joy for Rebekah.
"She's raising this baby as if it were a normal human, and I think that's really been something she wanted," Claire said. While she's treating Hope as a normal human, the baby is the child of a former werewolf (now a hybrid) and an Original hybrid. But, don't expect to see what baby Hope's supernatural abilities are just yet.
"These few episodes are really just about protecting her and keeping her safe, but I can't imagine when you have supernatural parents that you don't inherit some of their crazy gifts," Claire said.
Rebekah has been doing well on her own, with Hope, but she will need the help of her brothers in Monday's episode with Mikaelson mom, Esther, hot on her trail.
But could having to move quickly with an infant present problems? She's an Original vampire, so it's not impossible, but it's certainly much more difficult to keep hidden with a child, so she relies on her siblings and and they come up with a plan and they do their best to keep her safe," Rebekah said.
"The Originals" continues Monday at 8/7c on The CW.
