Laura dern, ben harper finalize divorce, Laura Dern and Ben Harper are officially divorced. The 43-year-old singer blindsided his wife with divorce papers back in 2010 after five years of marriage. However, in 2012 before it was finalized, they made the attempt to get back together.
The couple, who share two children, made a final effort to work out their relationship, but just a few months later, Dern, 46, decided she wanted to pull the plug on the marriage after all and filed a response to her husband's original divorce petition, TMZ reported.
Dern asked for primary custody of their kids and now a year later the judge has signed that petition legally ending their union.
The gossip site reported that the terms of the settlement are confidential, but sources close to the former couple said they will have joint custody with Dern having the children more than Harper.
The source continued that the "Jurassic Park" actress will get "minimal child support” and neither will get spousal support from each other.
