GQ offered more than 40 facts about Pratt in its “Men of the Year” profile, but the author of the piece, Drew Magary, has a few extra pieces of news about the actor. One of them reveals that, if Pratt hadn’t taken his Guardians of the Galaxy role, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Glenn Howerton could have piloted the Milano.
Magary learned the would-be casting while speaking with Guardians‘ director James Gunn.
Glenn came along a little bit later,” Gunn said. “But there was a good chance that, if I didn’t cast Chris, that I would’ve cast Glenn Howerton in the role.”
And though Howerton certainly has the dance moves to fit the role, it may have been an odder stretch to see the less-than-humble Dennis Reynolds save the day than it is to have the perpetually crime-fighting Andy Dwyer as the hero of this summer’s box office.
