Melissa Rivers Millions

Melissa Rivers Millions, How much net worth did Melissa Rivers inherit from mother Joan after the legendary comedienne’s death? Joan Rivers reportedly left more than $100 million of her estate to her daughter, including $75 million in cash and a $35 million Upper East Side penthouse. The 5,000-square foot condo includes floor-to-ceiling windows and wood-burning fireplaces.

Melissa Rivers’ son, Cooper, also received his own inheritance of Joan Rivers’ net worth. The exact amount is unclear, but since Joan Rivers’ net worth was around $150 million at the time of her death, Cooper Rivers likely inherited around $40 million.

Joan Rivers didn’t just make sure her daughter and grandson were well-cared for after her death.  Rivers also made arrangements for her dogs  before she passed away.

“I knew she made sure to leave very clear provisions for all of them; it struck me that in our world today, dogs have become accepted as such essential family members that providing for them well in life, and after death, is considered quite normal, whereas not that many years ago it would have been considered eccentric to mention children, grandchildren and dogs in the same context,”  Joan Rivers’ goddaughter, Tracie Hotchner, told Mail Online. “She loved her dogs dearly, and they meant so much to her because with her hectic lifestyle of travel and performances, her pooches were her touchstone to normalcy and genuine affection — just as they are for the rest of us!”

Still, this money has done little to help the family get over the elder Rivers’ sudden death. “It’s no consolation for losing her mother so soon,” a source told Us Weekly  of Melissa Rivers’ new net worth.

Joan Rivers died on September 4, a week after she went into cardiac arrest during a routine throat procedure. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed last week that the death resulted from a “predictable complication” of the surgery. But this conclusion came without an autopsy, as Melissa Rivers was so distraught that she asked the examiner not to complete one.

The medical examiner did not reference the reports that Joan Rivers’ personal doctor, Gwen Korovin, performed an unplanned biopsy and took a selfie with an unconscious Rivers during the surgery. And without an autopsy, it might be impossible to determine if these alleged actions played a role in Rivers’ death. Still, the fact that the medical examiner concluded Rivers’ death was “predictable” could help the family win a medical malpractice lawsuit against Korovin or the clinic where the surgery occurred. And since Joan Rivers’ net worth was so high at the time of her death, millions of dollars could be at stake.
