Kelly clarkson gospel cover, Some equate listening to a Taylor Swift song to a religious experience, but on Saturday, Oct. 25, Kelly Clarkson took it a step further. The American Idol alum, 32, tackled a gospel cover of the chart-topping Swift single "Shake It Off" in Buffalo, N.Y.
This is a church song, this is a soulful song. This is one of my favorite songs out right now," Clarkson teased.
The new mom began the the up-tempo pop tune with a slowed-down, jazzy intro before transitioning into the familiar beat. Turns out, 24-year-old Swift has no problem with Clarkson's version. In fact, she's a big fan.
"Watching Kelly Clarkson SLAY "Shake It Off" is an excellent way to celebrate 26 HOURS TIL 1989!!!!!! #TS1989," she tweeted on Oct. 25.
Clarkson quickly replied, "@taylorswift13 Love this song! Hope you like our gospel beginning ha! We had fun with it! Congrats on the new album coming out girl!"
Taylor Swift's fifth studio album, 1989, will be released on Monday, Oct. 27.
