The Tennessee road rage case involves one Tennessee man getting perilously angry while driving. Charges have been filed against him for first trying to shoot at a motorcyclist more than once, then backing his SUV into a second biker, nearly hitting his target.
According to the press release from law enforcement officers, the Knoxville County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that the “road rager” and shooter is Rodney Lee Scott of Tennessee. He is currently in jail pending the attempted murder charges, and is being held on no less than a $1 million dollar bond. A spokesperson for the police has been unable to verify if Scott had hired a lawyer at this point in time.
Circumstances surrounding this Tennessee road rage threat are still hazy, but on-site police officers are stating that the motorcyclists waved their arms and began shouting obscenities after Scott almost hit them on the turn. For their part, the bikers said they were very nearly driven off the highway.
Before long, Scott stopped his SUV in the middle of the street, then suddenly backed into the motorcyclists, actually knocking one of them over.
“Immediately afterward and before law officials could arrive, Scott fled the scene. The bikers called police and followed Scott to his house, where police say he came out shooting, hitting Tyler Lakin four times. Lakin was in stable condition at a hospital.”
It looks like Scott was a racist as well. When the bikers (at least one of whom was an African-American) were in front of the man's yard, police add that the gunman was shouting numerous racial slurs at the pair.
An investigation into this harrowing road rage turned violent is still being looked into by Tennessee patrolmen.
