2 males, 2 females die in Bahamas plane crash, Two males and two females died Sunday when their single-engine plane ditched off the Bahamas while on a sightseeing flight, Bahamian officials said.
The names of the victims had not been released and the Civil Aviation Department's Flight Standard Inspectorate said in a statement their nationalities had not been verified, The Bahamas Weekly reported.
The agency said the aircraft was a Cirrus SR22 with U.S. registration N432BC that was registered to First Class Flyers LLC.
The accident occurred during good weather shortly before 11 a.m. EST.
The agency said the plane apparently crashed in shallow waters about 7 miles north of the Freeport control tower.
