Blake Lively and Chanel Karl Lagerfeld, Karl Lagerfeld debuts Chanel's Spring 2011 line in Paris suggesting that ladies should be wearing tunics over a skinny pant, paired with flats. Well, this is a sign that Lagerfeld has his ear to the streets of America...because we adopted this style about...two years ago.
Karl Lagerfeld said he had Gossip Girl star and new Chanel spokesmodel Blake Lively in mind when designing the spring-summer 2011 haute couture collection, which layered delicate hand-beaded jackets over skinny jeans and flats.
The models wore satin slides and boots paired with high-end jeans that would make a city girl smile. The 2011 look for this luxury brand seems to be a renewal of the classic Chanel look of the eighties, updated and appreciated.
Chanel also featured structured dresses, perfect for the office-to-cocktails look. There was a hint of romance in the collection with long skirts and lots of beautiful, pale pastel colors that are not quite fit for the Easter bunny's basket. Needless to say, the collection is very desirable and luxurious. Lagerfeld stated after the show, almost every piece is made “pearl by pearl, thread by thread.”
Actresses Kirsten Dunst and Diane Kruger were on hand to check out the fashion house's Spring/Summer 2011 collection. Also at the show was Johnny Depp's longtime girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis.
