NFL power rankings

NFL power rankings, Week 1 is finally upon us, which means it's time for our voters (John Clayton, Ashley Fox, Dan Graziano, Jamison Hensley, Mike Sando and Kevin Seifert) to take their first crack at separating the contenders and pretenders.

So who's looking the best as things stand now? Russell Wilson and the Seahawks got the nod at No. 1, but it was far from a landslide. The Falcons (No. 2) and 49ers (No. 3) also received at least one first-place vote. The Broncos were a close fourth with a pair of second-place votes.

Does Week 1 have the potential to shake up the order? You bet. The Falcons open at division rival New Orleans (No. 13), so their stay in the top five could be short-lived. The Packers (No. 5) could make headway with a victory at San Francisco. Ditto for the defending Super Bowl champion Ravens (No. 8), who open at Denver.

Without a clear-cut favorite, change could be a constant in 2013. Get ready for a wild 17-week ride.
