Elvis Presley last words OK, I won't."

Elvis Presley last words OK, I won't.", Today, August 16th 2012, marks the 35th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death. And while fans around the world today remember the blue-eyed crooner in whatever ways they see fit, ex-wife Priscilla and daughter Lisa Marie surprised the people of  Memphis last night be attending the Graceland vigil unannounced.

Elvis Presley, King of Rock N’ Roll, died on August 16th 1977 at the age of 42 from complications due to prescription drug abuse.

Elvis Presley Cause of Death
Journalist Tony Scherman writes that by early 1977, “Elvis Presley had become a grotesque caricature of his sleek, energetic former self. Hugely overweight, his mind dulled by the pharmacopoeia he daily ingested, he was barely able to pull himself through his abbreviated concerts.”

His last words are somewhat debated. He ended his last press conference with, “I hope I haven’t bored you.” To his fiance, Ginger Alden, who told him not fall asleep in the bathroom, he replied: “Ok, I won’t.”

Alden found him unresponsive on the bathroom floor soon afterward.

Not particularly romantic. Still, most of us love to remember Elvis during his golden age. He changed music, culture. Whether or not you’re a fan of “the King”, the effect he had on the world is undeniable.

If you’re looking for some fun, easy ways to tip your hat to Elvis Presley today, why not consider some of the following:
