Alaska glacier thaws, An Alaska glacier thawed out and what was underneath it was shocking. If they work their cards right, they could make this a perfect travel destination. On Sept. 20, NBC News reported when this glacier thawed out you could see an ancient forest underneath it and it looked amazing.

This glacier was there for over 1,000 years. Nobody was able to see it at all through the glacier, but it is all still standing. For around 50 years, you have been able to see stumps, logs, and more. It made it obvious that what they would find underneath would be great. Some of these trees still showed bark and roots as they started to show up.

At this time, the area is being studied, but you never know what could come out of it. They are able to tell how old the trees are and look into more about the Alaska glacier that thawed out revealing a forest underneath it. There are plans for them to return and study the trees and learn everything that they can about the area.
