Several injured at Lone Star College near Houston, At least 12 people have been injured in an incident on the campus of Lone Star College Cy-Fair on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. The Harris County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that some of the victims were stabbed and a male suspect has been detained by the Cy-Fair ISD police.
Police are searching for at least one other subject who is described as a white male with shoulder-length brown hair, wearing black and carrying a backpack.
Two victims were taken by Life Flight and two other by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital. It is reported some of those patients were critically injured.
North Cypress Medical Center confirms that they have received six injured patients.
According to officials the campus is on lock-down. An announcement was made over the loud speaker for everyone to stay inside their rooms, as well as a text alert sent to students to seek shelter.
Student, Margo Shimfarr-Evans was trying to exit the campus and told reporters a classmate had been stabbed.
"I had just left class out of the Health Science Center building and as we were leaving I saw the cops coming. I called to check on another classmate who was still inside the building and she said the classroom was on lock-down and she said one of the classmates had been stabbed," Shimfarr-Evans said. "It happened in the hallway, we have a lab and a lecture, and down the hallway it's all lab classes and a classmate in the lab got stabbed."
