Puppy tied to tracks: Train engineer saves Banjo in nick of time

Puppy tied to tracks: Train engineer saves Banjo in nick of time, A puppy tied to tracks along a California desert railroad was rescued after the train engineer managed to stop the train. The Washington Post shared the details on April 10 of the puppy Banjo and what happened.

Banjo, a 10-month-old terrier-poodle mix, luckily is okay and is now available for adoption. Chances are he will find a new, loving home very quickly. Sadly it seems a 78-year-old man tied the puppy to the train tracks because his family did not want the dog.

The train engineer happened to see the man walking away from the tracks, and was able to use the emergency brake to stop the train before Banjo was hit. The man was detained and questioned, but he will not face charges. Union Pacific Special Agent Sal Pina indicates that the man did not seem to understand what he had done and seemed confused.

Riverside County Animal Services now has Banjo and says he is just fine. Kudos go out to the observant train engineer who managed to stop in time to save the puppy tied to the tracks.
