North Korea warns foreigners of thernomuclear war and to get out of South Korea, A statement from the North Korean State Agency on Tuesday is warning foreigners to get out of South Korea or risk being a victim in a thermonuclear war.
The statement said it is the hostile actions of the U.S. and South Korea to blame.
“The situation on the Korean Peninsula is inching close to a thermonuclear war due to the evermore undisguised hostile actions of the United States and the South Korean puppet warmongers,” the Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee, a North Korean state agency, said in the statement. “It does not want to see foreigners in South Korea fall victim to the war.”
The statement also warned foreigners to look for shelter or evacuate because the Korean Peninsula is on the brink of nuclear war.
However South Korean president, Park Geun-hye said she will “not succumb to the North’s efforts to escalate tensions to extract concessions from the South.”
According to a report by TIME magazine, there are roughly 150,000 Americans in South Korea, many of whom work at the over 50 American companies that are based there. It would be up to the State Department in consultation with the Pentagon to make the decision to evacuate Americans should a war break out.
