Lone Star College’s CyFair campus on 9191 Barker Cypress in Houston remains on lockdown after a mid-morning stabbing spree and is currently being evacuated as of a 1 p.m. update per college officials.
The confirmed number of victims is 11 where 4 have been transported by Life-Flight and others by ambulance to area hospitals detailed in a release by Jed T. Young, Executive Director of Communications for the Lone Star College System.
The incident took place near and around the Health Science Center at or about 11:20 a.m. and is an active crime scene with evolving and changing information. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has one suspect in custody with another possibly at large.
Traffic is being managed by the LSCS campus police and Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The LSC-CyFair campus, which is next to the Berry Center, will close for the remainder of the day. The LSC Fairbanks Center remains open.
The LSCS website posted an alert that was also sent to students via text to seek shelter in a secure location and to stay away from the area.
On January 23, 2013, three people were wounded from gunshot when a fight erupted between two men on the Lone Star College North Harris County campus.
