Man killed moving rabbit: 79-year-old hit by car while helping hurt animal, A man killed while moving an injured rabbit on the highway is making top news headlines this week, as the Denver Post reported this Tuesday, April 9, 2013, that a Wyo. man was recently hit and killed by a car on a thoroughfare west of Laramie.
Under the headline, “Man killed moving rabbit in Wyoming”, the Post noted that according to local highway patrolmen, 79-year-old William Kieren passed away this Sunday night at a Colo. hospital. The car accident took place on Saturday night.
While Kieren was driving to Laramie, he must have seen an injured rabbit in the highway. According to the report, the 79-year-old man parked his own car along the side of the highway, and was near the center line trying to help move the wounded animal when an incoming vehicle struck him head-on.
The patrol added that the rabbit was still alive after the Good Samaritan’s tragic accident, and was later put down by a state trooper.
