At least 15 students wounded in Lone Star Community College stabbing attack, The attack began at 11:20 a.m. CST. The suspect went from one building to another stabbing other students at random at Lone Star Community College in Cyprus, Texas.

Some of the victims had critical injuries. In addition to Life Flight called to assist, several ambulances were also called to help transport those who were wounded.

Sheriff’s Office officials say the suspect was apprehended by college police. He is a student at Lone Star, according to Sheriff Adrian Garcia, but he couldn't specify what type of weapon was used in the stabbings. The suspect's name has not been released

The campus lock down continues, as does the investigation,” stated officials from the Harris County Sheriff's office. Garcia and the college chancellor are expected to make a statement in regards to Tuesday’s stabbings.

One student said she learned one of her classmates was stabbed after leaving the school's Health Science Center building.

"I called to check on another classmate who was still inside the building and she said the classroom was on lockdown and she said one of the classmates had been stabbed," said Margo Shimfarr-Evans told KHOU-TV. "It happened in the hallway."

USA Today reported that a student identified only as James tells KTRK-TV in Houston that he helped authorities take one person into custody. He says the suspect, who appeared to be a student, may be hearing impaired, and was armed with a knife similar to an exacto knife, that may be used in animal dissections.

The attack came three months after a different Lone Star campus was the site of a shooting in which two people were hurt. The suspected gunman in that incident is charged with aggravated assault.
