David Messerschmitt slaying, A 21-year-old woman had been arrested for stabbing a rising Washington, D.C. attorney to death in a posh hotel in February, police said.
Jamyra Gallmon was charged Wednesday with the first-degree murder of 30-year-old David Messerschmittat the Donovan Hotel, Metropolitan Police announced.
The associate with the high-powered D.C. firm DLA Piper had been reported missing by his wife before found lying in a blood-covered hotel room on Feb. 10.
Among the items recovered with him were lubricant, a condom, an enema kit, credit cards and an HP computer, MyFoxDC reported citing an affidavit.
Messerschmitt's wife told police that he had texted her around 7:30 p.m. that Monday to say he'd be home in about an hour but he never arrived, the Washington Post reported.
Messerschmitt “seemed fine” in an earlier phone call and usually beat her home from work, she told investigators.
Surveillance video taken around the time of the attack and later released by police showed a hooded person of interest inside the hotel's stairwell.
It's not clear whether that individual has been identified as Gallmon or how she's been connected to the case by police.
