After doctors ran blood tests, Ang got the devastating news that she and her family had been praying not to hear: Cancer. Ang's sister, Janine Detore, told TMZ the tumor is on Big Ang's voicebox and her voice is deteriorating as a result. Ang is scheduled to have surgery next week.
"We are hoping for the best and are focusing on getting through the holiday," Ang's sister said. "We love the fans and want to thank them."
The family, according to Janine, has no history of cancer but it's believed that Ang's 42-year smoking history has likely contributed.
"Mob Wives" is not filming the ordeal, but it may address Ang's cancer at some point.
