Raymond Lam to star in "Department Six", Former TVB actor Raymond Lam is scheduled to star in a new period drama, entitled "Department Six".
According to Sina News, the actor, who previously expressed his desire to work in more films since leaving TVB and signing with Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG), has instead signed on to play a role in a mainland series.
To be directed by Wong Chun Man and Liu Guohua, "Department Six" revolves around a team of imperial investigators serving in the titular elite law enforcement agency of the empire.
Raymond is already familiar with the source material, having previously starred in TVB's "The Four", which is the adaptation of Woon Swee Oan's novel about the four investigators of Department Six.
The new series will begin filming in March at the Hengdian World Studios. It will also star Uyghur actress Dilraba Dilmurat.
