The Neil he is referring to is Neil Patrick Harris who hosted this year's award and is a friend of Elton and David and often joins then with his husband David Burtka and their twins on family holidays.
Sir Elton had a host of guests at the annual Elton John Aids Foundation event, with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Miley Cyrus and other Hollywood names in attendance.
However, the British singer was reportedly left rather miffed when Sharon Osbourne's potty mouth took to the stage.
According to the Daily Mirror, Sharon said: 'F*** the Oscars.
'We are not here for the Oscars, we are here to truly fight AIDS. F*** the Oscars.'Apparently Sir Elton, 67, 'didn't know where to look' after her profane outburst.
A source told the newspaper: 'During the breaks, various celebrities went up onto the stage to encourage guests to donate and raise money for the special cause.
