Jodhi Meares denounces as 'lies' claims fiancé Jon Stevens was the one who called police in row that led to him being charged with assault... amid reports fight was over her ex James Packer

Jodhi Meares denounces as 'lies' claims fiancé Jon Stevens was the one who called police in row that led to him being charged with assault... amid reports fight was over her ex James Packer, Designer Jodhi Meares appears to have denounced as lies reports her rocker fiancé Jon Stevens dialled 000 after an explosive row in which she feared for her safety.

The Daily Telegraph claimed the Noiseworks frontman, 53, raised the alarm when he struggled to calm down 'hysterical' Meares in a row said to be over her friendship with ex husband James Packer.

But on Sunday the former model, 43, appeared to take aim at reports and took to Instagram with an image of cartoon character Sylvester with the words: 'I'm always disappointed when liar's pants don't catch on fire.'

But a source told the newspaper the rocker felt he had no choice but to call police after attempts to calm his fiancée failed, even after he phoned one of her sisters to help.

'She believed he was sending a message to another woman,' the source said, adding: 'She became massively upset and just lost it'.

It is reported the New Zealand-born musician called Jodhi's younger sibling Sophie and asked her to help placate the swimwear designer.

It is further alleged Jon tried to restrain her by the wrists, resulting in a minor injury to the Sydney socialite.
Jon, who has no history of violence or criminal activity, was arrested and charged with assault due to the red marks allegedly on Jodie's wrists.

He was later released on bail under condition he appeared in court last Thursday and kept his distance from her.
He failed to show up for his case, claiming medical reasons, and it has since been rescheduled for May 18 at Waverley Local Court.

Following his arrest, the rocker has since moved out of the couple's apartment to stay with his son Levi, 21 - his child from his first marriage with Tracey Stevens, the newspaper claims.

Just days after the incident, Jodhi's lawyer Chris Murphy, issued a statement via social media on her behalf, writing: 'I am emphatically instructed by Jodhi Meares that she is totally without fear or concerns in relation to any future conduct by the subject of the (AVO) application Jon Stevens.

'I am also instructed by my client that there is absolutely no history of violence in the relationship between them.'
It is believed the pair were arguing over billionaire casino magnate Packer, whom Jodhi married in a $10 million ceremony in 1999 attended by 750 guests entertained by Elton John.

They divorced three years later but remain close friends.
