Teresa Giudice reports to prison, Reality is no doubt hitting Teresa Giudice pretty hard right about now.
Very early Monday morning - at 2 a.m., according to her lawyer — Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice reported to prison in Danbury, Conn., to begin serving her 15-month sentence after pleading guilty to tax fraud.
Giudice's car ride to Danbury took about 90 minutes,Giudice's lawyer James J. Leonard Jr., tells ABC News. She was ahead of schedule: She was due to report at 3 a.m.She is in a minimum security prison for women that inspired the hit Netflix series, Orange is the New Black.
Giudice, 42, ate at a diner before reporting to prison, he said.
"I think she was anxious to get in, get this thing started, get it behind her, and get back to her family. Her four girls are her primary focus," Leonard said.
ABC reports that Leonard says Giudice prepared for prison stint by corresponding with recently released female prisoners. She was told to be "friendly but guarded" at the prison.
People reports that she could be assigned to a job scrubbing toilets or washing dishes. And if she wants sunglasses, she can buy them for $1.50 in the prison camp commissary.
Giudice will be able to see her family this weekend, Leonard said.
Giudice's husband, Joe, who was sentenced to 3.5 years, will begin serving his time — 41-months — when his wife is free. Their sentences were staggered in the interest of the couple's four young daughters, Gia, 13; Gabriela, 10; Milania, 8; and Audriana, 5.
