Oregon top destination, Americans are moving on up to the West Side...of the country, that is.
United Van Lines in its annual report of the top destinations where people are moving to says that Oregon repeated as champ in 2014.
Based on United's figures, 66.4 percent of Oregon's moves were of people relocating there.
All told, 55 percent of new Oregon residents said they had gotten a new job or accepted a company transfer while nearly three in ten decided to retire there.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, 64.9 percent of the moves in New Jersey involved people leaving the Garden State, primarily because of high taxes, fewer job opportunities and other reasons.
