Neil Patrick Harris tribute grandma

Neil Patrick Harris tribute grandma, Christmas Day will hold an unfortunate memory for Neil Patrick Harris. The How I Met Your Mother star revealed that his beloved grandmother, Martha Jeanne Harris, died on the evening of December 25, by posting a touching tribute photo in mourning of his paternal grandma on Instagram earlier today.

He wrote with the picture, "My grandma passed away on Thursday night, services are today. Martha Jeanne Harris was 92, lived a long, lovely life. We shared a birthday, 6/15. She'll be missed.
"
Martha Jeanne is survived by her six grandchildren, including Harris, and 13 great-grandchildren, which also includes the celeb's 4-year-old twins with David Burtka, Gideon and Harper.

NPH was quiet on social media during Christmas, which is understandable now considering the circumstances, but he did post a sweet photo of his children enjoying a nice dinner on Christmas Eve.

He wrote, "Christmas Eve dinner at Babbo. Traditional Feast of the Seven Fishes. Delicious! Gideon and Harper are in holiday heaven. Thanks, Mario. #joy"

Prior to that, Harris showed the adorable duo getting into the holiday spirit by singing "Jingle Bells" as they decorated the family Christmas tree. The Oscars host captured the cute caroling on camera and shared it with his Instagram followers Wednesday. "Yay! [David Burtka] is back home, and the family all together!" Harris wrote in the caption. "Time to trim us a tree! #trim #carols #JingleFeels."

Harris and Burtka welcomed their twins via surrogate in October 2010, but neither wanted to know who the biological father is. As Harris recently explained during Barbara Walters' 10 Most Fascinating People special, he still has "no interest" in finding out, saying, "We are their parents and I love them implicitly."
