Bush 70th anniversary

Bush 70th anniversary, George and Barbara Bush have gone platinum. The Bushes are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary today and extend their standing as the longest-married presidential couple. (They passed John and Abigail Adams, married for 54 years, in 2000.)

George Bush was 16 years old when he met Barbara Pierce at a dance. They were engaged right before Bush was shipped overseas as a naval pilot during World War II and married in Rye, N.Y.
