Taylor Swift Ex Boyfriends, Taylor Swift has taken A LOT of heat for writing about her ex-boyfriends and hanging them out to dry in her hit – and oh-so-catchy songs. But now her ex, Harry Styles, has leapt to her defence.
The One Direction hotty was asked during Sunday’s 1D Four Hangout about how he felt when used as inspiration for songs.
Harry, who was dating Taylor at the end of 2012 before a split in January 2013, said that he’s “lucky”.
“I think we always say, when we wrote the album, that we write from personal experiences, so it would be hypocritical of us to be like “oh you can’t write a song…,” the 22-year-old explained.
“She’s really good so… They’re good songs. So I’m lucky in that sense.”Harry was joined by his bandmates – Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan – as Ben Winston, the main behind the 1D movie One Direction: This is Us, and many of their music videos quizzed them on their album, their love lives and regrets.
Harry's good pal Olly Murs recently hit out at Taylor Swift after it was speculated that Harry was at the centre of her song Out Of The Woods.
The former X Factor star said that she should "write something new that isn't about Harry".
After Taylor responded asking why other male stars don't get treated in the same way. You're going to have people who are going to say, 'Oh, you know, she just writes songs about her ex-boyfriends'," she said.
"But I think frankly that's a very sexist angle to take. No-one says that about Ed Sheeran. No-one says that about Bruno Mars. [They both write] songs about their exes, their current girlfriends, their love life, and no-one raises a red flag there."
Olly later apologised to Taylor and told Daily Mail Australia: "I reached out to Taylor around two days ago. I gave her a letter and said, 'I'm really sorry... It came out wrong. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make any offence'.
"It always came out that every article says Taylor writes songs and they always link it to Harry, so I was just making a joke and defending my mate."
