Heidi Klum’s bikini photo sparks debate among fans, Internet observers, Should Heidi Klum say “auf wiedersehen” to showing skin?
The 41-year-old German stunner was spotted in an itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny polka-dot bikini in Jamaica over the weekend, setting off a global debate about whether the mother of four with the 28-year-old boyfriend pulled off the look — or should retire the thong and graduate to a one-piece.
“She looks great. She’s got it and she owns it,” said Lyss Stern, 40, a mother of three and founder of the Divalysscious Moms blog.
“I’m not even jealous. I’m in awe,” she added. “I don’t know many 20- or 30-year-olds who look that good.”
Celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch, who’s worked with Klum for years, agreed.“I like that she’s not all tucked and plucked,” he said. He especially liked Klum’s confidence.
“She lets mature moms know that it’s OK to have fun (and) be a little adventurous,” Bloch said. “If Heidi Klum was hiding under a dashiki or a caftan, what would real women do? They’d say, ‘Oh, my God, I gotta stay in the house, I can’t go out.’”
Even the man on the street — in this case, Chris Smith, 29, of Staten Island, supported Klum’s “let it all hang out” approach.
“It would be weird if she was all covered up,” he said. “It’s Heidi Klum. This is what she does.”As Klum says on “Project Runway,” in fashion, one day you’re in, and the next day, you’re out. And these cheeky snaps prove that not even this blond bombshell’s assets are immune to gravity and cellulite.
“I’m a fan of Heidi Klum, but this swimsuit is definitely not so flattering down there,” said Jason McNeil, 30, from Staten Island. “It makes her backside look funny.”
Elhadj Kamagate, 15, also from Staten Island, says he thinks women should stop wearing barely there bikinis once they hit their 30s or start having children.
“She should have more respect for herself than that, especially since she’s a mom,” he said. “I would definitely be embarrassed if my mom dressed like that. I mean, what do her kids think?”And in a tut-tutting Staten trifecta, mom C. George, 50, agreed.
“That’s ridiculous! It looks like something you would see in Playboy,” she said. “I definitely think it’s inappropriate. I’m old school. After having kids, at the beach I wear a wrap. My daughter would be so embarrassed if she saw me in something like that.”
The Internet was even less forgiving.
“Urrrrm No,” tweeted MutsaRocky in response to a Twitter headline, “Heidi Klum is 41 and still looks amazing.” He punctuated his disgust with a sad emoji.
“I legit just lost my lunch” added Twitter user Xytonic.
