Georgia RB will enter draft,To no one's surprise, running back Todd Gurley will forgo his senior season at Georgia and enter the 2015 NFL Draft, coach Mark Richt confirmed Friday.
"He'll be moving on," Richt said.
Gurley positioned himself as a 2014 Heisman Trophy candidate with a string of explosive early-season performances before he was suspended four games for accepting improper benefits from autograph brokers. In his first game after returning from suspension, Gurley tore his ACL and was lost for the season.
Despite only appearing in six games, Gurley still rushed for 911 yards in 2014, averaging 7.4 yards per carry on the season. For his three-season career in Athens, Gurley collected 3,285 yards on a 6.4 yards-per-carry average, rushing for 36 touchdowns. He added to his overall line 615 receiving yards, six receiving touchdowns and two kickoff return touchdowns.
Even following his ACL injury, Gurley is still projected as one of the top two tailbacks in the 2015 NFL Draft, alongside Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon.
