Reddit user MetsFan4Ever, who claims to have contact within WWE (and has broke stories in the past, including AJ Lee’s wedding to CM Punk), said that the wrestlers were trying to avoid Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.
The reason for the avoidance was because Stephanie and Hunter are still fuming from the accusations in CM Punk’s interview on the Colt Cabana podcast. Nobody wanted to get caught in the line of fire.
The Reddit informer also stated that a behind closed doors meeting took place between Vince McMahon, Stephanie and Hunter. In truth, that’s pretty normal. These three guys call the shots, so of course they are going to have behind closed doors meetings.
Still, there can be little doubt that the Punk issue was a subject of discussion, especially with Vince planning to reference it during the Steve Austin podcast later that night. It is also a pretty safe bet that both Hunter and Stephanie are indeed still fuming about the Punk comments, as it was Hunter who received far more criticism than Vince did.
The other information the insider had was that The Ascension from NXT are going to debut on the main WWE shows soon. Take it for what it is worth – in the past this informer has been accurate and other times got it wrong.
