TNT orders Sharon Stone drama, 'Agent X'

TNT orders Sharon Stone drama, 'Agent X', Sharon Stone is coming to series television in the TNT drama, Agent X.

The cable network Friday ordered 10 episodes of the action drama, which also stars Jeff Hephner (Interstellar, Chicago Fire) and Gerald McRaney (House of Cards). William Blake Herron (The Bourne Identity) wrote the pilot of Agent X, which is schedule to launch in the second half of 2015.

Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Stone (Casino), who also is an executive producer, will play Natalie Maccabee, America's first female vice president.

Her character has the power to deploy a secret agent, John Case (Hephner), who tackles crises beyond the reach of traditional law and government. He takes on threats around the world and in Washington, D.C. and "Maccabee soon finds herself being drawn into the action," the TNT announcement says.

McRaney will play Malcolm Millar, the chief steward of the vice president's mansion who introduces Maccabee to Case.

"Agent X is a perfect fit for TNT's expanding lineup of action-dramas," says Lillah McCarthy, senior vice president of TNT and TBS Original Productions. "It's a slick, high-energy thrill-ride with lots of twists and turns, big action sequences and (cool) stunts. And at the center of it all, we have an incredible cast led by Jeff Hephner, Sharon Stone and Gerald McRaney."
