The Voice 7 Results: Who Went Home On Top 12 Week? – 11/18/2014

The Voice 7 Results: Who Went Home On Top 12 Week? – 11/18/2014, Welcome to the live blog and recap for The Voice 7 Results, “Live Eliminations”! Last night’s show was a night of some surprises, whether it was Chris Jamison stepping up and delivering his best vocal, or Luke Wade having an unfortunate flub that could cost him tonight. It’s a packed show tonight, as two artists go home. On the bright side, Ella Henderson performs live!

But who will be at risk for elimination tonight?

Rickey.org readers predict that tonight’s Bottom 3 artists will be Team Pharrell’s Sugar Joans (25% of the vote), Team Gwen’s Ryan Sill (24% of the vote), and Team Blake’s Jessie Pitts (15% of the vote). But it’s not too late to vote in the poll, so head on over and add your predictions!

The Voice Instant Save is back, so here’s how to save your favorite if they should end up in the Bottom 3…I’ll be adding videos as the night rolls on. Until then, add your thoughts in the comments below, and keep refreshing for analysis, thoughts, and results.

Let’s get this show on the road! Before we kick off the show, let’s go over the iTunes voting results real quick: As for right now, the three artists in the driver’s seat for this competition, according to iTunes voting, appear to be Matt McAndrew (#6), Craig Wayne Boyd (#11) and Damien (#16). The next closest person on the rankings is Chris Jamison at #32, although Taylor John Williams isn’t too far behind him, ranking at #35. It was a bit of a strange week since, other than the Matt McAndrew surge, I’m not sure anyone landed where they were expected to. I really like Damien, and I generally enjoy Craig Wayne Boyd, but was anyone expecting them to be ranked as high as they were, or for Reagan James to be as low as she was (#131, ranked even lower than the new single from Team Blake alum RaeLynn, whose “God Made Girls” is at #103)?

Of course, just because you’re ranked low on the iTunes Top 200 singles chart doesn’t mean you’re going home, necessarily. Especially since you might rank fairly high on the singles charts for your respective genre (Craig Wayne Boyd is #1 on the Country Singles chart right now, for example). But it’s not always a good sign if you’re ranked that low. Or, in the case of poor Sugar Joans, not ranked at all. Yes, out of 200 songs on the iTunes Top 200 singles chart, not one of them is by Sugar Joans. So barring any reprieve by The Voice Instant Save, it’s looking like Sugar is in real trouble tonight.

That said, I’ve been generally terrible at predicting this show all season, so I figure these rankings are a cosmic sign that I really ought to stop trying. Blech.

TEAM GWEN PERFORMS

-So we kick things off with Team Gwen singing “The Tide Is High” by Blondie, and it’s a cute performance, if somewhat forgettable. The most memorable thing about it is the fake palm trees onstage, and Gwen’s glam-rock Helena Bonham Carter look. Okay, that’s probably overselling the look a bit, but her hair does look a bit Marla Singer-esque, and those heels add like an extra foot to her height. A slammin’ look, in all honesty. But Gwen being fashionable should surprise no one.

Carson then announces a MASSIVE FREAKING TWIST: when we’re down to the final three artists in the competition, everyone eliminated from the Top 12 will be brought back, America will vote, and the person America chooses will become the fourth wildcard finalist! Isn’t this…I dunno, kind of unfair? Someone eliminated from Week 1 could bypass the rest of the competition and just head straight to the finale? I mean, with that kind of back story, I imagine they’d also get a bit of a voting bump too once they get into the Final Four. Seriously, I can’t imagine the wildcard will be eliminated immediately after being voted back in. I’m not sure I like this twist.
