Nothing comes easy in the Hamptons, not even reuniting father and daughter. Emily’s reactions to most of the things that David says, especially concerning Victoria, are fantastic. It is fun and slightly heartbreaking to watch the two of them argue.
What’s weird is that David never really asks Emily for an account on what she has been up to. Emily says that she cleared his name, but it is doubtful that David knows what exactly that entailed. It would be great if someone on Emily’s team (aka not Victoria) filled David in on more of the particulars. Then he would better understand not only the blood that’s on her hands, but how much his daughter sacrificed and risked for him.
Thankfully, David informs Emily of what he has been up to since he “died” in prison. He tells the whole truth, only the minor details are left out. It would have been annoying if the writers dragged this on any longer. The same goes for the photos that he had of Amanda in his safety deposit box.
Now, Emily can uncover more about Conrad’s rival through her tied up guest. The writers have created a new mystery and a new foe. Once more is revealed, watching how Victoria reacts and what knowledge she has on this rival will be great. This could be a way for Victoria and Emily to sort of be on the same side of things.
The writers have done a good job showing the fallout from the David and Nolan interview. They didn't have to do that, and it is a little surprising that they did. It will be interesting to watch how Nolan restores his public image. David can’t exactly come out and say “Sorry, I had the wrong Amanda.” He definitely needs to apologize to Nolan though. It’s mandatory.
It’s weird watching Nolan and Louise be buds because it is so nice to see Nolan have a friend. Too bad Louise is nothing but bad news. On the bright side, Nolan knows about it now. His reaction is priceless. Did you like Louise and Nolan being friends?
Nolan and Margaux teaming up could actually mean interesting things. Margaux and Daniel or Margaux and Louise is not all that exciting. Margaux and Nolan can be. Teaming up with Nolan would get Margaux a little bit more involved in a scheme to take down Victoria, which is always entertaining.
This episode featured another great Daniel and Emily scene. Come on, someone else has to be having their shipper feelings re-awakened. Daniel is sort of a wild card when it comes to whether or not his storylines will be amusing. His scenes with Victoria and Emily are usually good to watch. Seeing as how Margaux isn’t speaking to him, it is hard to predict what storyline Daniel will end up in.
At first, there is a moment of pride for Emily at respecting her father’s wishes. Then, it is revealed that she is keeping one of the guys hostage and torturing him for information on David. So, Emily, what exactly is your plan here?
Maybe she sees what Nolan sees – taking down Conrad’s rival would allow her to be with her father. Getting David as far away from Victoria is definitely Emily’s number one priority, and it wouldn't be surprising if this is how she chooses to accomplish this. Of course, then she has to clue her father in on her torturing ways, and it is doubtful that the conversation will go well.
What did you think of the episode? Should Emily have respected David’s wishes to let him handle things? Did you enjoy Jack’s storyline with Agent Kate Taylor? Leave me your thoughts in a comment below.
