"Certainly, Stoops must know deep down that he's just not appreciated as he once was at Oklahoma, where fans have booed the team this season," Bianchi writes.
Bianchi wrote years ago that Stoops would be crazy to take the UF job, but has reversed course. The Gators will be searching for a new coach after announcing that Will Muschamp won't return next season.
Stoops, who was UF's defensive coordinator from 1996-1998, is in his 16th season as Sooners' head coach. Bianchi says that's long enough in one spot, and even quotes the Ol' Ball Coach for backup.
"[Steve] Spurrier himself once said that spending 10 or 12 years at one program is enough and then you need to move on," said Bianchi. "One of the stated reasons Spurrier left Florida is because Gator fans had become so spoiled that they expected perfection every season."
The Oklahoman's Jason Kersey was asked the Stoops-to-UF question on the OU live chat this morning. He says Stoops isn't going anywhere.
