HESTON BLUMENTHAL'S ASPARAGUS EGG DIPPERS WITH SMOKED SALMON
Heston's healthy version of egg and soldiers still manages to be decadent, with butter-drenched asparagus and smoked salmon. Don't be fooled by how it looks, you don't need any of Heston's technical wizardry - it's incredibly quick and easy to make. If you're new to boiling eggs, don't worry we've got a how to video to help. If you're a dab hand (good for you), you could try poaching your eggs as a fancy twist.
JAMIE OLIVER'S MODERN GREEK SALAD WITH FETA PARCELS
Nothing brings back memories of summer like a Greek salad, with salty olives, sweet tomatoes and crunchy cucumber. It pairs perfectly with Jamie's crispy filo parcels, stuffed with feta and spinach. We promise there's no pastry-making involved in this recipe; it uses ready-made filo from the supermarket so it couldn't be easier.
TOM AIKENS' ROAST PORK BELLY WITH ANISE CARROT PURÉE AND BALSAMIC GLAZED CARROTS
'Two types of carrot?' you might think - but try it and you'll understand. The aniseed flavour of the purée and the vinegary sweetness of the roasted carrots cut through the richness of Tom Aiken's pork belly. This is the perfect dish to impress at a dinner party or Sunday lunch, and while the recipe might look long, the pork happily cooks away by itself in the oven while you relax.
MARCO PIERRE WHITE'S LAMB HOTPOT
When the nights are drawing in, this hotpot is the ideal hearty comfort food. With minimal prep and two hours' slow cooking by itself in the oven, this is simple and delicious, plus it's packed full of vegetables which can help your immune system this winter. It even comes with its own potato topping so there's no need to make a side dish (i.e. less washing up, brilliant!)
NIGELLA LAWSON'S CARAMEL CROISSANT PUDDING
You weren't expecting Nigella to offer up a fruit salad, were you? Of course this recipe is sickly sweet and full of butter, but half the joy of winter is not having to worry about your bikini body for a long time yet. Nigella's recipe used ready-made croissants topped with a caramel custard and splash of bourbon for a simple yet scrumptious dish. Omit the alcohol if you're making it for children and it will still be just as delicious.
MARCUS WAREING'S BACON ROLY POLIES
Knowing how to make pastry is a staple technique in every chef's skillset; handily Michelin-starred Marcus has a foolproof recipe as part of these cheesy bacon roly polies. Let the kids help you make them, then eat them warm on a cold winter morning. Once you've got the basics down, you can experiment with all kids of different flavourings and herbs in the pastry and as the filling.

Have a go at this quick Chinese dish, one of the most popular from the Sichuan area. Most of the ingredients you'll probably have in your kitchen cupboards, but any extras will be readily available at any supermarket. MARY BERRY'S CHICKEN WITH PESTO, TALEGGIO, AND ROASTED TOMATOES
Mary Berry proves she's more than just a cake baker with this gooey cheese and chicken dish. Helpfully, you can make it in advance and freeze so it's easy to whip up even when you feel too tired to cook or you can't bear to get out from underneath the blanket on your sofa. Kids will love the cheese sauce and roasted tomatoes; it'll taste even better if you use homemade pesto but we won't tell if you don't.
JAMES MARTIN'S BEEF FILLET WITH BACON AND MUSHROOM PUREE
Having a weekend steak night? Indulge with James Martin's recipe that combines a juicy fillet with creamy mushroom sauce, sautéed Jerusalem artichoke and smoky bacon pieces. Artichokes can be quite fiddly to prepare; if you want to make the dish a bit simpler, swap them out with your favourite root vegetable and cook until soft - anything like sweet potato, turnip, celeriac or parsnip will work with the earthy, autumnal flavours.
RACHEL ALLEN’S BUTTER PECAN ICE CREAM
If you don't already have an ice cream maker, Rachel Allen's recipe alone could make it worth investing in one. Featuring two ingredients that wouldn't be out of place in a Thanksgiving meal - pecan nuts and maple syrup - Rachel's whipped up a North American delight. You could also reserve a few of the pecans and gently toast them with a bit of sugar for a crunchy topping to the ice cream.
PAUL HOLLYWOOD'S IRISH RAREBIT
Is there anything better than golden, bubbly cheese on toast? Well, yes. Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood's recipe has a splash of stout, a dash of mustard, lots of spring onions and sharp Irish cheddar to give a flavourful twist. The mixture keeps well in the fridge so you can make double and have it on standby for a quick lunch or supper.
