Guinness Book of World Records, The Guinness Book of World Records was on hand to recognize the museum for having the world's most powerful bi-polar Tesla coil. The coil produces up to 200,000 volts.
Andy Marquart, the Executive director of Hands-On, tells News 5 the Tesla experience began this summer. The coil's public display makes this one special.
The coil's electric discharge is exchanged between two spheres five feet apart. This exhibit also uses its electromagnetic frequencies to play up to 18 different songs.
Almost 5,000 people have seen the Tesla coil so far. Marquart also says the goal of the exhibit is to introduce people to Nikola Tesla, the famed inventor who created many of the things we take for granted everyday, things like the radio, the remote control, florescent lights and cell phones.
