Frank Grillo on Captain America: Civil War, Marvel's Captain America: Civil War is set to shake things up a little. Frank Grillo has been talking about where he fits into the film...
This article contains potential spoilers for Captain America: Civil War.
Earlier this month, the news broke that Daniel Bruhl was joiningthe cast of Captain America: Civil War. Bruhl is expected to play a villain in the movie, but reports continue to suggest that he won't be the main foe of the piece. That honour goes to Frank Grillo, who will be reprising the role of Brock Rumlow in the new film. Only this time, he'll transform into the villain Crossbones.
Readers of certain comic books will be only too aware of the significance the character of Crossbones has in Captain America's life, and Grillo has been chatting to Entertainment Weekly about what lies ahead.
He told it that his work in this year's Captain America: The Winter Soldier "was only a taste of what's to come with the next film, and I couldn't be more humbled and excited".
So what happened? "They just kind of called and said 'what kind of shape are you in? We’re going to need a body scan'", Grillo said. "They scan your body so that whatever you wear fits you like a glove".
He added that "we all know what Crossbones represents in his world, so when they called me and said we gotta do the body scan, I was like ‘okay'".
If you had any doubts that Grillo would become Crossbones in Captain America: Civil War then, it's probably fair to say they've been laid to rest.
