Sad news today for fans of Constantine. NBC have decided to stick with the initial 13 episodes it ordered, rather than extend the season.
The Flash and Gotham, the other new DC adaptations this year, both fared better and received full-season orders of 20+ episodes from their respective networks.
This isn’t, however, the definite end of the show. It does still, we’re told, remain in contention for a second-season renewal.
The timing of the show (premiering later than the other DC-based programmes) meant that NBC had to make a decision on continuing season 1 after only four episodes had been shown. When the season has finished, and all the ratings info is in, it can still choose to renew.
