Android 5.0: Xperia Z3 running AOSP, This week, Google released the source code for Android 5.0, Lollipop, and as you can see in the video above, the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) version of Android 5.0 is already running on Xperia Z3, as well as Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z1. Android 5.0, is the latest version of Android and it comes with new features such as a more responsive UI, better control of the security of your device, new ways to control notifications, improved performance and more. Get the full list over at the Android developers web site.
For all you developers who are eager to run Android 5.0 on your unlocked Xperia device, we are working to provide you with the necessary binary files as soon as we can. Once you have them, these binaries can be used as a base for compiling your own custom version of Android, together with source code for AOSP device configuration from the Sonyxperiadev GitHub. Device configurations are already available for Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z2, these will be updated, and are coming soon for Xperia Z3.
