Anchor Sabrina Rodriguez caught after employees recognized her as one of the suspects after watching her on television, It must suck to find yourself caught for your illicit activities after one of your loyal viewers recognizes you on television. Unfortunately for Sabrina Rodriguez, an anchor at a California FOX affiliate, that’s exactly what happened after employees at a Coach store recognized her as the woman who was an accomplice in the theft of $2,500 in merchandise on March 24, 2013.
Rodriguez turned herself in to police on Thursday after an arrest warrant was issued. Her lawyer says she is “100 percent innocent” of the charges and looks forward to defending herself in court. The news anchor is taking a voluntary leave ob absence from work and is free on $10,000 bail. She has been charged with grand theft, burglary, and conspiracy.
“These charges relate to a personal situation with Ms. Rodriguez that is not related to her work at FOX40. Sabrina maintains she is innocent of these allegations,” FOX 40 said in a statement.
On May 6, a fire broke out at the home of Sabrina Rodriguez and boyfriend Nicholas Gray, injuring one firefighter. However, several months later Gray was arrested and booked into Sacramento County Jail on charges of arson, battery, manufacturing meth, and possession of marijuana or hashish for sale.
