The owners of the West Village residence have placed a sign on their front steps informing people to stop coming onto the steps. It seems that even though SATC ended a while ago, the steps are still too famous. People stop all the time to take photos, see the place where so many of Carrie’s memories were made, and to cause a literal traffic jam of pedestrians on the sidewalk. However, SJP didn’t receive the proper permission from the owners of the townhouse, and they found out about it; and they’re apparently not SATC fans.
“I heard about the shoot. They didn’t get the permission from the owner. The situation with SATC visitors is still very intense. People who live here get upset that the sidewalks are constantly jammed,” states Gerald Banu, president of the Perry Street Association. It seems that neither SJP or her people thought to seek permission from the owners of the home she once called her (Carrie’s) own, and she posted several photos to her Instagram account detailing the day. One photo includes her shoes lined up along the bottom step of the stairs with the “Do NOT go on staircase please,” sign just behind them.
“The only thing I could suggest to SJP is that when they write the next script, please have Carrie move to a new address,” said Banu in hopes that his message would come across to writers of the rumored third Sex and the City movie. Shows how little he watches SATC or he’d know that Bradshaw and Mr. Big moved after they got married in the first movie.
