Neil Patrick Harris, Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron want everyone to know that Neil Patrick Harris is their guy when it comes to hosting the 2015 Oscars. And he always was.
They call him the “perfect choice” and the “consummate host.”
This comes after an industry report that claims NPH was actually fourth on the list — after the producers “begged” 2013’s host Ellen DeGeneres to return, then asked Chris Rock and, next, Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
In a statement today, the producers insist that while there was some initial brainstorming for hosts, NPH received the formal offer. And the duo slammed the report saying, “Some are eager to break a story without knowing the facts.”
