Mia Hamm and former Bruins star Cam Neely nominated to board of AS Roma, Former NHL Hall-of-Famer Cam Neely and retired women’s soccer legend Mia Ham were nominated to Italian club AS Roma’s board of directors on Monday, according to the Vancouver Sun.

There were two spots left open when former club president Thomas DiBenedetto and New York lawyer Joe Tacopina, who recently became the president of second-tier Bologna, left the board.

Neely made his name as an all-star power forward for the Boston Bruins. He had three 50-goal seasons in his career and racked up 305 goals and 299 assists in 726 NHL appearances. Hamm helped the United States women’s national team to two World Cup titles, including the first ever women’s World Cup in 1991. She also won the first two women’s FIFA World Player of the Year awards ever given in 2001 and 2002.

Roma was bought by a group of four Boston executives three years ago. Members of Roma’s board serve 3-year terms.
