Kris jenner cursed out nanny pam behan for forgetting to buy broccoli, When she was just 19, Pam Behan was hired as a nanny for the Kardashian clan, giving her a five-year crash course in their bizarre, drama-filled, blinged-out world.
Soon, the teen from a small town in Minnesota was locking lips with Sylvester Stallone, buying the finest diamonds in Beverly Hills, using a family credit card and getting unwanted plastic surgery advice from the leather-faced Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner.
But when Behan was hired on July 4, 1991, she could not imagine that Kourtney, 12; Kim, 10; Khloe, 6; and Robert, 4, would become reality TV’s most famous family. Prior to meeting the Kardashians, Behan had worked three years as the full-time nanny for Bruce’s kids, Brandon and Brody Jenner.
The life of luxury revolved around the domineering Kris Jenner, who was grooming her brood for stardom. “Kris wants what she wants, when she wants it, which is usually now!’ ” Behan, now 41, said in an exclusive interview.
“Especially as hired help, there were good times and bad times.”
Bad times like when Behan made the terrible mistake of forgetting to buy broccoli at the grocery store. “I can’t believe you forgot the f---ing broccoli!” Kris Jenner belted out.
The episode was one of many occasions in which Behan ended up on the verge of a breakdown due to Kris’ sky-high standards.
“I had mentally started packing my bags — I was going to quit. And all this, over broccoli!” said Behan, author of “Malibu Nanny: Adventures of the Former Kardashian Nanny.”
But the nanny persevered and grew accustomed to the Jenners’ demands. After the power couple wed in 1991, they asked Behan to brew a pot of Starbucks breakfast blend every day at 5 a.m. and leave it outside their door on a tray with mugs, hotel-style.
The kids learned from their parents. Kourtney was “a serious child” who didn’t mince words and she let her new stepdad know it. “Bruce tried to engage with Kourtney and to parent her as a good stepfather would. Kourtney wanted nothing to do with it,” Behan said. “Bruce tried to talk to her, and she yelled, ‘You’re not my dad! Don’t even speak to me!’ ”
Kim, on the other hand, was always “sweet and friendly.”Behan recalled sharing a story about her losing a 300-meter race on her high school track team. Her opponent beat her despite falling over the hurdles.
“She got up and still beat me! I had never been so humiliated and embarrassed in my life!” Behan said to the family.
Bruce Jenner wasn’t sympathetic. “Bruce grimaced and uttered in a pained voice, ‘Never ever tell that story again in my house,’ ” she recalled.Bruce Jenner, with whom Behan shares a birthday of Oct. 28, had other suggestions, as well.
At one point, she caught him eying her schnoz. “You could use a little taken off your nose!” Jenner said. Not surprisingly, her proximity to the Kardashian clan had its perks, too.
Behan, hired from a Beverly Hills nanny agency, got outrageously expensive hand-me-down dresses from Kris Jenner. Two red leather dresses were too fancy for the nanny to wear to college, she said.The former Kardashian nanny also scored a table and six chairs that Kris Jenner wanted to replace with even higher-end furniture. The table set Jenner gave away was worth $10,000.
“That was the same as an entire year of tuition for me!” Behan said. “I couldn't believe it.”
She was issued a gold credit card that read: “Pamela Behan for Bruce Jenner.” With it, she hit the fanciest stores of Rodeo Drive — a personal shopper for the family so rich they didn’t shop for themselves.

There was also a constant parade of big shots passing through chez Kardashian — especially children of celebs.Nicole Richie, Kimberly Stewart, Paris Hilton, and Justin and Sydney Simpson — children of O.J. and Nicole Simpson — were among the regulars.
Behan even dated friend of the Kardashian clan, Sylvester Stallone. The “Rocky” star was as sexy in real life as on the big screen.“I watched him arrive from behind a curtain,” Behan said. “He was sporting a Hawaiian shirt and some very tight jeans. With his bronzed skin, aviator sunglasses and matchstick in his mouth he looked cool, wealthy and powerful.”
Soon, Stallone got word Behan was interested in him. He called and asked her out on a date. Behan was floored — and expressed her trepidation about going out with the muscular movie star.“The truth is I’m scared,” Behan admitted to Stallone. “I don’t think I will live up to your expectations. You have dated so many beautiful women!”The smooth Stallone told her to relax.
“Sly said, ‘Pam, you are being silly. You are beautiful inside and out. You are down to earth and real. And I like that about you,” Behan recalled.
Later, while on a date at Stallone’s Malibu house, he made his move.“He took a step toward me and kissed me gently,” she said.
“I wanted it to last forever. (But) I couldn’t fully enjoy it because I was so overwhelmed that I was actually kissing Sly Stallone. What young girl from the Midwest isn’t in love with a celebrity? My locker was covered with his posters!”
But at times, her life became less of a romantic comedy and more of a thriller.Robert Kardashian — Kris Jenner’s ex-husband — had an infamous client, O.J. Simpson. The case led to a terrifying kidnap threat directed at the children.
Behan was also heartbroken by the murder of Nicole Simpson, who was “like an auntie” to the Kardashian kids.
In 1996, the roller coaster had to end. Behan had dreams of traveling and carving out a life for herself.“Khloe would always beg me not to leave, saying, ‘You’re not going to quit, are you?’ ” Behan said.
“I felt like I was leaving my family,” she recalled.
Soon, reality set in — and not the kind that ends up on a television show. Her new job — after being a nanny to the Kardashians — was as a manager at a friend’s convenience store in Tennessee.
